Dang a Dang Radio joins Slow Room for Bodies That Listen, a "listening-based experience that transforms public space into a temporary environment for sound, reflection and shared presence."

Dang A dang Radio is inhabiting the space as a temporary broadcast station. Transmitting under the canopy of Slow Room's mossy forest we invited Eric Tandoc and Juro Kim Feliz for Dang A Dang Radio's inaugural live broadcast via dangadangradio.live.

The songs, poetry, audio essays and field recordings are transmitted from Manila to the world through Icecast servers of our friends from Varia and Lurk. Our thanks to Dani of Varia for making this possible.

Dang A Dang Radio will introduce the project, share highlights from our past and upcoming programs, and play a selection of protest music and sound works by Menchi Caliboso, Wicked Adobo, Tropang Usig, Oriang, The Axel Pinpin Propaganda Machine, backflip3000, Mara Peralta, Alyana Cabral, Kerima Lorena Tariman, Ericson Acosta and RJ Ledesma. We'll share a bit about the works and the artists behind them, and invite listeners to join our upcoming project - Sound Assembly, an open call for political field recordings and protest sounds documenting people's struggles.

“Mass Movement Worldwide” is a musical journey exploring the diverse spectrum of progressive music produced by Filipinos in different countries across the globe to advance the struggle for national liberation and genuine democracy in the Philippines.

When a person moves to a new place, time stops moving forward. It oscillates back and forth between pasts, presents, and futures. Wandering ghosts emerge with this condition, conjuring lost selves and possibilities while inventing new ones.

In the one-hour radio episode “Interviews from the Horizon,” Filipino-Canadian composer Juro Kim Feliz unpacks layers of resistance as migrations materialize from the geographic and cultural to the artistic and political. Four of his acousmatic pieces and audio essays highlight glimpses of a reluctant engagement with electroacoustic media, relying instead on journalistic storytelling born from experiences as a radio producer and magazine writer to create soundings. Instead of objectifying and taking ownership, the artist positions nearby stories of resistance to maintain their sovereignty and autonomy.

Speaking beyond the horizon, Feliz encourages listeners to migrate and unsettle listening frames towards ever-shifting socio-political landscapes beyond homes and homelands.
